What is PACE?

At CrossFit Jorvik, we’ve always believed fitness should feel challenging, rewarding and genuinely enjoyable.

That’s exactly why PACE was created.

PACE is our endurance-based fitness event designed to bring people together through movement. It blends running, machines, bodyweight work and functional training into one long-format session that keeps you moving, working and thinking throughout.

It’s not a race.
It’s not a competition.
And it’s definitely not just for “fit people”.

PACE is about effort, atmosphere and shared experience. Most gym sessions are built around short bursts of intensity or isolated strength work.

PACE is different.

These events are designed to challenge your aerobic fitness, muscular endurance and ability to keep moving under fatigue over longer periods of time. Think steady pressure rather than all-out sprinting.

You’ll work through a mixture of:

  • Running
  • Ski ergs
  • Rowers
  • Echo bikes
  • Carries
  • Bodyweight movements
  • Functional strength exercises
  • Team challenges

The sessions are structured to keep everyone moving while creating an incredible atmosphere inside the gym.

There’s music on. Teams encouraging each other. Coaches pushing the room forward. People digging in together.

It feels more like an event than a workout.

Built For Everyone

One of the biggest misconceptions around fitness events is that you need to be “super fit” before you can join in.

You don’t.

PACE is designed to be scalable for all abilities.

Some members will push the pace hard and treat it like a performance challenge. Others simply focus on moving consistently for the full session and building confidence in longer workouts.

Both approaches are equally valid.

You can run fast or jog steady.
You can scale movements.
You can modify distances.
You can work at your level.

The goal is to challenge yourself, not compare yourself.

Why Longer Conditioning Matters

A lot of people avoid endurance work because they think it has to mean boring cardio.

But improving aerobic fitness has huge benefits:

  • Better energy levels
  • Improved recovery
  • Increased work capacity
  • Better heart health
  • Reduced stress
  • Greater resilience inside and outside the gym

PACE gives people a way to improve all of that in an environment that feels engaging and motivating.

Instead of staring at a treadmill for 45 minutes, you’re constantly moving through different challenges with a group around you.

The Community Side Of PACE

This is probably the biggest reason people keep coming back.

PACE has become one of the strongest community sessions we run.

There’s something different about suffering through a long workout together. People encourage each other more. Conversations happen naturally. Members who normally train at different times end up working side by side.

You leave tired, but you also leave feeling connected.

That matters.

Fitness is easier to stick to when you actually enjoy the environment you’re in.

More Than Just Fitness

PACE isn’t just about calories, sweat or fitness scores.

It’s about building confidence.

It’s about proving to yourself you’re capable of more than you thought.

It’s about turning up on a Friday night, Saturday morning or special event day and doing something difficult with good people around you.

That’s why these events continue to grow.

And honestly, we’re only getting started.
